Read and Reflect: Why Is Photography So Important
Photography to me is important because its proof that an event or something happened. It keeps memories safe and easily accessible. Without photography many things like in history would be lost or forgotten. But because we have the photography to back up the fact that it happened makes a camera really useful now. Especially when a camera so small is being carried around on the daily.
A second reason photography is important to me is because it inspires me. Many photos taken inspire any person, like a sport photographer might inspire someone to play that sport because of that photo they took. When taking pictures you never know how you can inspire someone else, like for example toy photography could inspire someone to also pursue that because of how cool it looks to see a storm trooper in a real life environment. Skate photography could inspire someone to start skating because of how high or how cool the tricks look on camera. The list goes on, photos can inspire a person in so many way.
Critique of Silver List Photographers
One photographer I want to talk about is Mikael Owunna. His work is very colorful and bright. One of my favorite ones are the colorful paint ones. They pop on the person and make a galaxy seem picture. The black background makes the person stand out with the bright colors on their body. The website layout is also very simple and easy to use. It shows his photography really well on the website.
Aaron Jones. I want to talk about this photographer because of the use of the collage photos. His use of the collage completes the image and makes sense. They all really stand out and make this newspaper feel to the images. The website is also very easy to use with the different works on the left side of the website. Its basic and to the point instead of flashy and confusing websites.
I think being a photographer would be a great job for a handful of reasons. One of them being that you are your own boss. You have the choice to charge how much you want for the type of work you are putting out. Free from the constraint of a corporate hierarchy. Another good reason would be that you can stretch out to other big ideas like switching between photography. You can be as universal as you want. Nobody can stop you from doing what you love during it, be as creative as you want with it too.

For my camera of choice ill be getting the Sony alpha 1 for sports photography. Accompanied with this ill be using the cannon EF 24-70mm Lens. This is already going to set me at 8,397. For the lens extender ill be using the Cannon Extender RF 2x. This will come in handy when the action in the field or court happens away from me and also the fact that I cant get too close to the action without being a disturbance. Ill also be buying a Sony 120GB memory card to save all my pictures and transfer it to the computer or anything else I needed to transfer it into. Another accessory would be a cannon shoulder bag to carry around when taking photos of different sports. Another accessory I could buy is a monopod but I’m not sure if the camera I picked out would be compatible with the monopods available. This would help when I’m trying to stay in place for a picture, for example when the basketball players go for a jump shot and you get the exact moment they jump and hit the ball to either side.
Sony alpha 1: $6,498
Cannon EF 24-70mm lens: $1,899
Cannon extender RF 2x: $599
Cannon Shoulder Bag: $25
Sony 120GB Memory Card: $170
